We asked parents to vote for the top service features they'd like highlighted on a service listing and these are the results in order of importance:
- Outdoor play space information e.g. playgrounds, sand pit, mud kitchen, veggie patch, animal pets etc
- Examples of programs included e.g. dance, music, science, cooking, bush/beach kindy etc
- School readiness/transition to school program
- Use of parent communication app
- Long serving educators
- Learning philosophy/style e.g. play-based, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Steiner etc
- Indoor play space information e.g. light-filled, modern, renovation, purpose-built facilities
- Extra high staff to child ratio
- Celebrates cultural and family diversity
- Inclusive of children with additional needs
- Accessibility: onsite car parking or walking distance to public transport
- Links to local primary schools
- Separate sleeping area provided
- Orientation program for new families
- Community connection
Ensure your service’s listing highlights your top features, keeping in mind what parents most want to learn about.
It’s so easy to add features in the Care for Kids portal. If you have a subscription you’ll see the Features tab in the top menu. Click on this and drag and drop the relevant features to suit your service from the column on the left to the column on the right.
Depending on your subscription level will determine how many features you can highlight in your listing. Click save once you’re done.
Login to the portal now to update your Service Features.
